Lori Rottenberg teaches Oral Communication Skills Level 5, a class INTO Mason students take to prepare them to thrive in an American university. In the class she assigns weekly journals that are designed to help the students become familiar with English that they are likely to come across in a university setting.

In Rottenberg's words, "it's gratifying because at first [the students] find it very hard and then [at the end of the semester] they find it not hard at all."
