15,000 people marched through the streets of Shibuya, Tokyo, in the annual Rainbow Pride Parade on Sunday. This was the 30th Anniversary of Tokyo Rainbow Pride, and saw 27,000 LGBTQ individuals and allies gather to celebrate in Yoyogi Park over the weekend.

Pride-goers called for an end to anti-LGBTQ discrimination, the legalization of same-sex marriage, and more rights for transgender individuals. Japan remains the only G7 country not to legalize same-sex unions. It passed a landmark law prohibiting discrimination based on sexual orientation last June.
