I recently had the pleasure of meeting up with Brian La Rue, writer and contributing photographer for the National Fly Fishing Examiner, Colorado Fly fishing Examiner, and High Country Angler Magazine. It was an extremely late spring and I wasn't sure what to expect. Brian had showed some interest in seeing the "ale egg" work in action so I sought a place that was known for great sight casting and likely to have holding rainbow trout. While there were not the numbers of fish I have experienced over the years we had a solid day with fish hooked up to 21 inches. The ale egg was successful in landing many of these fish.
