The first hurricane of the 2024 Atlantic hurricane season has formed. As of the 5:00 PM advisory from the National Hurricane Center, they have upgraded Beryl from a tropical storm to a category one hurricane with winds of 75mph.

Hurricane Beryl formed Saturday evening, about 1000 miles east of Barbados, moving west at 22 mph and is forecast to strengthen into a major hurricane by Monday morning.
