A quick stress test after I installed v-log. Since I like slomotion I tested it in 10 bit 1080 at 50fps. For this test some of the shots are deliberately overexposed and underexposed. Please note that the original files have been transcoded to Prores before editing which will have some initial degree of quality loss. Shooting in V-log requires just the right ETTR exposure for correct skintones, they will vary when the exposure is not nailed spot on. Please note YT compression will also have an impact on the footage. Since this was a quick test I accidentally used the wrong preset setting on my gimbal which resulted in micro jitter on some occasions. Everything was shot with no monitor and manual focus.
To convert the LOG footage to rec709 I used Paul Leemings excellent Leeming LUT one at 75% with a grade adjustment layer on top and tested several rec709 LUTs.

The dynamic range improvement of v-log vs Cine-D is quite apparent and pleasing.
