Main Issues: š§ļø Flooding due to stormwater from heavy rains and developing alternative water supply systems to recharge urban aquifers š§
Challenges and Needs:
š Collect data on #water quality and quantity for strategic planning with public authorities and water utilities
šæ Engage citizens in caring for #NaturebasedSolutions (NBS)
š£ Implement communication and dissemination activities to spread multi-level knowledge on #NBS benefits and co-benefits
š¤ Strengthen public/private stakeholder networks to mainstream NBS solutions
š± Explore NBS to mitigate #flooding, reduce heat islands, and increase #biodiversity
AWARD is a three-year project, funded by the European Commissionās Horizon Europe with the goal to enhance water management by integrating Alternative Water Resources (AWR) into strategic planning.
Consortium: The project is coordinated by OiEau and brings together 14 beneficiaries and 2 affiliated entities across 7 European countries
