In Episode 12 of “A Needle in a Haystack”, a behind the scenes account of a @MucosalMelanomaSurvivor takes place from 1/10-2/21, 2019. returning home after learning that my disease burden is continuing to grow in the immunotherapy, although could still be working is not working fast enough.
The decision was made to switch to chemotherapy immediately, with Keytruda if approved and return after two cycles to rescan and evaluate. I immediately got a port installed and got at it. Since Keytruda was not an approved regiment at the time to do in conjunction with CVD i was only able to get 1 dose but was thankful for everything I could get.
I headed back down to Houston to do another MRI and CT and meet with the medical oncologist on 2/21.
