On October 7th, 2012 the Paramus High School Spartan Marching Band performed their 2012 halftime show "The Boys From Jersey" at the XV Midland Park Music In the Parks competition. The band took home trophies for best Color Guard in their division (and were ranked best overall), best music in their division (and were ranked best overall), best band in their division and best overall band (1st place in the entire competition!). This is the second year in a row that band won this competition. Due to construction on the Midland Park football field, the competition was to take place outside on the Ramapo HS football field, but due to rainy weather conditions, the competition took place in the Midland Park HS gym with no marching.
