A brief history of the earliest campaign settings used for tabletop roleplaying games, including four that pre-date the creation of D&D. Learn where the Forgotten Realms and Blackmoor came from, the role of Judges Guild in the creation of fantasy campaign settings, and some of the earliest science-fiction RPGs, from the 1940's through 1977.

Make sure to check out my video on the World of Greyhawk to learn more about the history of how D&D was created and how Greyhawk was the first campaign setting specifically developed for Dungeons & Dragons and published by TSR:    • Dungeons & Dragons Settings: Greyhawk
