The crappie spawn is coming to a close ( at least where I am). All the fish I cleaned were spawned out with some evidence of eggs. The crappie were kind of all over the place. There was a good number of fish holding on brush piles in 6 ft of water. I did catch a few smaller crappie casting jigs toward the rip wrap. It pays to get to the lake as early as you can in the warm months; To beat the heat but also to get a break from the wind. Around 11 oclock the wind picked up and made it more difficult to stay on the piles. Another challenge with livescoping crappie in shallow water is spooking other fish on the brush pile. I saw hundreds of carp all over a few brush piles and could see them on the Livescope.
