COLEMAN LANTERN 17B - 3 EASY UPGRADES YOU CAN DO YOURSELF
The Coleman Lantern 17B is one of the most economical entries in the market. Like most campers, they are built to a price point to be profitable for the manufacturer. If you have young kids, this bunk layout is a great way to be introduced to camping.

We will show you three different upgrades you can complete yourself. These upgrades require minimal amounts of tools and skill. Two of them cost less than $100, and one costs less than $300.

Upgrade number one is friction hinges. Installing friction hinges will prevent the wind from shutting your door. The plastic door stop is not strong enough to prevent this from happening. If you want a breeze to come in through the door, this will become an annoyance when the wind closes the door for you. The friction hinges were $37.95 from Amazon.

Upgrade number two is a keyless RV door latch. This kit comes with key fobs and a keypad on the latch. Leaving the campground, you can use either of these to lock the door and go. You will not have any more worries about locking your keys in the camper. The door latch kit is $249.9 on Amazon.

Upgrade number three is a double-step entry stair. If you purchase this exact model, it will fit the factory bracket. With the single-step entry stair, it is an almost uncomfortable height to step in. The entry stairs were $95.63
