Military life can be challenging and sometimes I think we have the best intentions, but the next move is almost here and we end up with some half finished spaces because we didn’t get to complete the process. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Have you asked yourself what are the most cluttered or unorganized spaces in your home that seem to collect the mess? For me it’s our guest room, more like the catch all room and I don’t even know what’s really in there, so I just close the door. If I don’t see it it will go away. In all transparency I was struggling and kept putting it off, but it was affecting my mental health.

Since my husband is deployed, I figured this is the perfect time to turn this space around and I’d love to do it with you. ✨

Necessary Tools:
Bins
Trash bags
Sticky Notes
Timer (Yes a timer. The best way to not get overwhelmed, set it for 20 minutes. Think of it like working in blocks of time. Take a short brake and set the time for another 20 minutes. This really helps make it not so painful.)

❗️This is a process. It took us 1 - 16 hour day of sorting, trashing and donating. We had over 1,000 pounds of items in just that one room, and I donated 15 cocktail/formal military ball gowns to @ODYD. 🤗

I’m turning this space into my office/studio so I need bookcase storage, and work space. To stay on budget I went with @ikea Billy bookcases and created a bar height crafting table out of a cube storage unit and a table top.

‼️My biggest tip: Do not neglect your vertical space. Behind the door storage is a must. The Elfa over the door storage system from @thecontainerstore is the best solution. I tripled my storage by adding these.
