This is great for weeknights when there is no time to to slow simmer fresh/frozen green beans. I made this "southern style", though I have also made them using butter instead of bacon grease.
They do cook way down as shown in the video, so If you usually make two cans of green beans, I would make four. They cook way down compared to the volume that you start with.

The recipe below is for what I made in the video (you make make more or less depending on what your family's needs are):

◙ 4-5 14.5 oz canned green beans, whole, cut (whatever is your favorite style)
◙ sautéed onions (I generally add about 1/2 on an onion, minced per 4-5 cans)
◙ bacon grease (about 1 TABLEspoon PER 4-5 cans)
◙ 2 cups chicken broth, I used my soup base (I do NOT recommend bouillon as it would be too salty for this recipe)
◙ a SALT FREE general seasoning
NOTE: I used my House seasoning, link below or 1/2-3/4, tsp (to taste) of a Cajun seasoning
◙ a good pinch of sugar (optional)
◙ crumbled cooked bacon (I always add this, I was out this time)
s & p to taste (this recipe you will find, does not need extra salt)

Occasionally I will make these with butter instead of bacon grease, when I do that, I also add previously boiled red potatoes cut into bite sized pieces.

Add all in a pot that has a lid. Bring to a boil. Remove the lid. Keep on high heat and allow the broth to reduce down. I STRONGLY suggest that you stay with the pot and give a good stir several times during the boiling . As the broth is cooking away keep stirring. This is NOT a recipe to walk away from. The last few minutes are important. Keep it moving, when the broth has almost completely evaporated as shown, they are done. Remove from heat and serve. Enjoy!
