Before it is appointed as Gede Pangrango National Park, the forests were appointed as the core of Cibodas Biosphere Preserve by UNESCO in 1977.Situ Gunung area has a lot of natural beauty that is potentially to be natural tourist attraction such as waterfalls, caves, hiking tracks, and lakes.
