Some tropical trees are just scary as hell but I love the spice as much as I love the science! A storm flattened the whole forest in one push right to the edge of this tree. That's actually why we're working with it, to see if the hot 'forest gap' makes drought worse. When the thunder rumbles, that 100 feet of space below you starts to feel real empty, and you can't help but think of the power of a storm that can flatten a forest. This was our hardest installation this season, and it didn't fail to deliver those nerves that make this work so memorable!
