In 2004, Australia passed the Marriage Amendment Act, which defined marriage as the union between a man and a woman. In response, gay rights activists established their own nation off coast called The Gay and Lesbian Kingdom of the Coral Sea Islands.

The Gay and Lesbian Kingdom has been at war with Australia ever since.
