I have been working on a replacement for alcohol inks for several months and tried lots of different methods. I have finally found this simple trick that replaced alcohol inks in resin so there will be no more fading. As you know I love the look of alcohol inks in resin, but my previous experience and tests I have done show how quickly the colours fade in resin and ruin your beautiful resin pieces. This simple trick will stop that happening and still give you a wonderful looking resin piece to be proud of and sell confidently, so you don't have to worry about the fading. The reason that alcohol inks fade in resin is because the majority of them are made from a dye rather than a pigment. Additionally, alcohol inks were not originally developed for using with resin. They were developed for permanent markers and as refills for them. Someone, somewhere, decided to try them in resin and that brings us to where we are today with them. I am currently testing an alcohol ink that claims to be colour fast and resistant to fading ( I hope so much that this is the case). I will let you know in a few months how this test goes and whether the claims are correct.
