Hello everyone,
I was 21 when I came to Denmark. I came here on August 2015. It has been quite a journey. I came to Denmark to study AP Degree in Commerce Management which was a 2 year course and I was granted visa of 2.5 years. During that stay in Denmark there were lots of things that happened from getting scammed to not being able to earn and not get work. I was studying in Naestved and I had a room so it was easier for me to settle in Denmark. I frequently visited friends in Copenhagen and was looking for job. I was able to work in a hotel as a housekeeper but that was really hard. I worked for a month and after that I was not called to work and was left jobless. I had to sustain my living in Denmark alone with the money I brought from Nepal and also had to borrow from family and friends. I was not able to earn because of many reasons like it was off season, there were no one who could help me get a job and I went going from hotel to hotel distributing cv. I was able to get my first job because a friend had given me the number of the manager and luckily I got to get that job but it was for nothing. Got CPR problem and scammed from the landlord. My husband came on December 2015 and it was not easy for him too but he got a job easier than I did. He was underpaid and once he did not get paid. We had to struggle a lot in the beginning because of housing problems and job problems. I was not getting work and it had been 9 months we were still just existing. Was not able to pay the loan and send money home. We were barely doing enough. Then I found a job at lyngby area and it was a housekeeping job. It was easier than my first job. I also went for a cleaning job who had me worked for the whole night. I also got a job at vallensbaek where he offered us to pay in black. I was only paid for half and he did not used to pay us. So I had to leave that job. But later at lyngby it was okay. The only good thing I had that 2 years was getting a scholarship and I did not have to pay tuition fee.
After completing the education I was supposed to apply for top up bachelors but my college did not give me offer letter so I had no option. And at that time there was only one option we knew of and that was to leave Denmark and go to nepal. So at work I requested them to give me a full time working contract and they kindly helped me in that process. But working full time under work permit was deteriorating my mental health so I applied for college again. It was 2018 and again it was a very critical period because I was not able to work and that had affected my contract which in return had got me a letter from SIRI. It was very stressful period. We were again planning to move to Nepal for good. But I wanted to give my all and pressured my college to let me know if they are giving me offer or not and then I got the offer from Zealand roskilde to study top up bachelors in sales and marketing. After completing that I also did Masters in Tourism in Aalborg University and now I am in establishment visa. I still have to live independently for 3 years before I can apply for family reunification. I am applying in various colleges to study double masters and hopefully will be able to get one. I am still struggling and trying hard to stay here in Denmark.
I hope you also get inspired by my story and do not lose hope and keep on trying. I wish you all the success.
