Hello, and welcome to an interTOMAS dictation challenge.
I am Mr Dear, and today we begin… Spooktober.

Spooktober! OOooooOOooo! A spook is a ghost. The word came from Dutch, but nobody is quite sure why. In preparation for Halloween, the month of October is often filled with spooky, or scary, or spiritual imagery. Spooky October? Spooktober!

Simply put, people use the time to prepare for Halloween. That means making decorations, preparing costumes, and getting ready for large parties. Naturally, it is as good a time as any to swap ghost stories, and exchange ideas for costumes or events.
In the mist and the fog and the cold, it has long been said that the veil, the covering, between this world and the spirit world grows thin.
So TV stations put on scary movies! What could go wrong?
