9/10/2023 - 9/11/2023 Emigrant Wilderness - Kennedy Meadows Trailhead to Relief Reservoir
I was watching the weather Saturday 9/9/2023 and was noticing the thunderstorm moving across Emigrant Wilderness. So I made a change of plans. My initial plans was to head back to Bear Lake. Instead I went to Relief Reservoir from the Kennedy Meadows Trailhead Parking Lot. I didn't want to risk driving through mud puddles on the dirt road to the Crabtree Trailhead. Or get stuck.
The extra drive along 108 was chill. It probably would have taken the same amount of time driving to the Crabtree Trailhead.

The goal of this trip was to catch a trout. I brought my compact backpacking spinning rod/reel setup and two Tenkara rods. I was also looking forward to trying out the Handy Pak Insta-Net if I catch one.

With the weather turning soon, I'm not sure if I'll have another trip out there this year.. but I really enjoyed this.

Things I would do different..
Bring a bigger power bank.
Bring Crocs and neoprene booties for wet wading in the river.
