Gunung Api Purba Nglanggeran is an inactive volcano that lies in Nglanggeran Village, Gunung Kidul, Yogyakarta. The location is about 30 kilometers away from Yogyakarta. Nglanggeran Village received an award as the best eco-tourism resort in the 2016 ASEAN Community Based Tourism (CBT).

To experience the beauty of this mountain to the fullest, you must first pass 5 resting posts to reach the top of the mountain. No need to worry for those who are not adept at climbing, because the ascent is easy to pass and only takes about 1.5 hours. Arriving at the summit, as far as the eye can see you will see how green the rice paddies and fields are, the countryside, and even in the evening the exposure to starlight and the sparkling lights of the city that makes the landscape more exotic.
