This is the cab view of the battery locomotive of Kamaishi mine tunnel. This minecart is operated in the mine's tunnel 350m above sea level (Only mine staff can ride). The minecart that manufactured by Nichiyu (Nippon Yusoki Co., Ltd.), travels on a track with a total length of approximately 2.5 km in 12 minutes. This section is normally not open to the public, but this time, with the full cooperation of Kamaishi Mining Co., Ltd., I was able to take a special photo of it in the cab of a battery locomotive.

At its peak, the Kamaishi mine had a total length of approximately 1,000km of tunnels. Many of the decommissioned tracks still remain, and the video shows many branches and double-track sections. The end of the active section is near the platform for the slopecar, but the track itself continues for about 2 km beyond that point (the discontinued section).
