Iron ochre is a bacteria that grows in soil rich in magnesium and is difficult, if not impossible, to eliminate. In extreme cases, the only way to keep this invasive bacteria under control is by regularly flushing any subfloor waterproofing system. Our dual-flush sump pump system clears out drainage pipes so that no clogging will occur. The dual-flush system is only used in overwhelming situations because our pipes are perpetually self-cleaning and can handle iron ochre when minimal.
