After being in storage for a year and a half I brought it out the Seagate ST-412 10MB drive for a quick power up to loosen up the bearings from storage. This time bringing it out later in the year it did not grumble for as long as when I have brought my MFM drives out in February.
I did the first loud startup and then a few minutes later another startup that was not as loud.
This drive is out of my 1985 IBM 5160 XT that has an upgrade to an ST-251 40 MB.
The drive was parked offscreen.
This is one of my two oldest hard drives along with an NEC D5124
BIOS type 1
Cylinders 309
