This rig is highly versatile and can be used in a wide variety of ways. The Pompano Rig is the perfect beach or pier rig when targeting pompano, snapper, and many more bottom fish.

Gear Used/Needed:

1. 20-40# Mono Line or Fluorocarbon
2. Barrel Swivel
3. 3 Hooks - Ranging in size based off what you are targeting. A size #1 beak hook was used in this video
4. 3 Floats or Beads or Both!
5. Snap Swivel
6. Pyramid Weight

Fishing Applications and Variations:

The Pompano Rig is also called the Hi-Lo Rig or Chicken Rig. You can rig this with beads, floats, or just the hook. The pompano rig with a pyramid weight is the best for fishing off the beach. The pyramid weight also for your rig to stay in one place in the sand.

You can also tie on a dropper loop for bank weights when fishing a wreck or reef.

The best baits to use with the Pompano Rig would be Fish Bites, Sandfleas, Shrimp, or a piece of cut bait of your choice.
