As part of our community education program, Mission Hospice hosted a community conversation with award-winning nurse and end-of-life educator Barbara Karnes, RN. Barbara has been providing clear, easy to understand, and wonderfully insightful information about the dying process, end-of-life care, and how to navigate the needs of the dying for more than 30 years. Now she is talking with people and organizations around the country about providing this same kind of care in the age of COVID-19.

An award-winning nurse and end-of-life educator, Barbara was honored by the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization in 2018 as a Hospice Innovator. In 2015, she was named International Humanitarian Woman of the Year by the World Humanitarian Awards. Barbara's book about dying and the last weeks of life, Gone From My Sight (also called The Little Blue Book), has been used by hospice providers everywhere.

Barbara is in conversation with Mission Hospice nurse Gabby Jimenez, LVN.
