Song about woman trying to get away from her bad man...she has been running in the poring rain..through stormy windy Florida..to try and get away from the man ,she is leaving. He has followed her , on horseback, in the stormy rain..It is turning into a hurricane...
The woman finds a house..and has been knocking on the the door for sometime. She wants to ask for help. and to stay the night..

The man in the house, couldn't hear her knocking , because of the wind ,rain and storm.
Eventually , he answers the door, and the woman tells him about the bad man after her..
He says she can stay at his house all night by the warm golden fire.
