Sometimes you have to take detoirs in the middle of a big project to make or buy something to help you accomplish a task. In this case, I was working on a chair and needed a better way to saddle the seat (i.e. carve out the curvy butt spot). So I decided to make a travisher following Claire Minihan's video series. A travisher is a curved shave designed for shaping and smoothing concave surfaces. This was a really fun project, and introduced me to metal work! This is really the first wood + medal tool I've made, and I think I'm hooked!
