📱 Did you know that every time you get a new phone you are part of a harmful process affecting local communities that live near mining sites?

🔌 CCP Fellow Paula Acosta from Colombia, CEO of Wast-E, wants to change this process. With her high-impact business, she raises awareness on the importance of recycling e-waste sustainably. She wants to increase urban mining, an alternative to regular mining that affects the environment and living spaces of people near mining sites. For urban mining, large quantities of e-waste are collected, their minerals extracted and used to create new electronic devices.

Create something new out of something used – that's called a circular solution. We are grateful for Paula’s input at our Circular Solutions Workshop in Munich, where 24 experts of the CCP Community exchanged their ideas and expanded their knowledge on circular initiatives in Munich and worldwide. The video was taken at IFAT Munich, an international fair for environmental technologies that the workshop participants visited. ♻️
