Trip Report Tuesday - Trying a slightly different format this time with a bit of a commentary over the top and slightly longer than normal. Is it a yes or a no? Give me some feedback please.

Started on Friday at Licola General Store then went to check out the depth of the Macalister at the bottom of Black Soil Gully Track. The plan on Saturday was to drive it and I didn't want to have to turn around. As it was the depth was fine. Camped the night at Barkley Bridge Campground and the rest of the crew arrived. On Saturday we did Black Soil Gully again, 4 in convoy......one without a snorkel!! The Macalister River Track is awesome and highly recommend it. Lots of great river crossings and campgrounds. Just after ford 7 we turned up Butcher Country Track and left the river behind. The track is steep and rocky but not big ruts or wombat holes. Some great views from up there. Round the top passed Howitt Hut and then down Caledonia River. We camped near ford 10 for the night and then completed the rest of the river on Sunday morning followed by a drive up Dingo Hill Track.

Filmed January 2024 after dry weather. In the week before there was 200mm of rain
