In the description of 1686, it is indicated that the Peter and Paul Dominican Monastery received from the Sophia Monastery "as alms" a part of its lands in Borshchagiv. At the beginning of the 18th century, there were only 6 houses here, and in 1781 there were already 201 people living here.

In the 19th century, the village was the center of a separate Petropavlovska Volost of the Kyiv County of the Kyiv Governorate. As of 1885, 872 people lived in the village, there were 132 yards, an Orthodox church, 4 inns, 2 benches, a windmill, a forge.

The church of Simon Stoupnyk was built in the village back in 1755. In the Geographical Dictionary of the Kingdom of Poland, Petropavlovska Borschahivka is described as a village on the Borschahivka River, formerly called Zhelan, in Kyiv County, 12 versts from Kyiv, located by the old postal road to the town of Bilogorodka. 755 Orthodox and 12 Jews lived in the village, there was a village administration, a water mill and a school.

According to the census of 1897, the number of residents increased to 1,358 people, of which 1,356 were of the Orthodox faith. As of 1900, 1,675 people lived in the state village of Belogorod Volost, and there were 262 households.

Due to its good geographical location, at the beginning of the 21st century, the village became one of the largest and wealthiest villages in Ukraine. Modern business centers have appeared in the village, high-rise buildings have been built, and new enterprises are operating.
