Rough and tough really best describes the Lehigh River. Super tough to wade because of the rough big round rocks throughout the bottom, and along with a pretty good flow, adds up to a very unsure wading experience. But, a good bug life with a good population of stocked and wild trout will get me to test the limits on most any waterway. Probably my best experience on the Lehigh. I've fished it a half a dozen times farther upstream always catching some fish, but today we knocked it out of the park! Definitely not easy, so if you're looking for a challenge with a good possibility for some big boys, give the Lehigh River a shot. For a great guiding trip on the Lehigh for trout or the Susquehanna or Juniata Rivers for smallmouth bass, please checkout Nick Raftas's Orvis endorsed guiding service, "Wild East Outfitters" website.
