Download the full ADA Door Handle Compliance Checklist at https://t-concepts.com/ada | This video shows the proper operation of the thumb turn actuator for ADA compliant doors with locking ladder pulls.

Locking ladder pulls have a “lever” actuator, not a typical thumb-turn requiring a “push” as well as “turn” rotation. This is referred to as 2-point actuation, where there are two action points. The lever allows for a single point of action, meeting compliance requirements in that it rotates 180 degrees without the need for a “press” action.

As one of the few architectural door hardware manufacturers who specifically focuses on glass door handles, T CONCEPTS MIAMI carefully monitors ADA code variations to help architects and designers meet ADA compliance for doors, specifically door handles.

Based on over 20 years in the A&D industry and extensive research, we compiled the requirements for door handle ADA compliance into an easy-to-follow checklist.

While this checklist will help you avoid costly mistakes and help ensure ADA compliance for doors, we highly recommend that you also Download our FREE Comprehensive Guide to ADA Accessible Door Handles at https://t-concepts.com/ada to see complete specs and acceptable door handle designs. You will also receive updates to help you stay current with changing ADA regulations.
