静岡県浜松市で1928年創業の、古橋織布さんの工場にお邪魔しました。
古橋織布さんは旧式のシャトル織機をつかい、綿を中心とした天然素材にこだわったモノづくりをしています。

糸にできるだけ負担をかけず、ゆっくりと織り上げることで、
素材の特徴を活かした特別な風合いが生まれます。また、開口装置を大きく広げることで、
織機の限界まで高密度に織ることが可能になりました。

上質な糸を贅沢に使ったタイプライタークロスやダウンプルーフ。
中番手の糸を使い、織機の上で布場がバシバシと音を立てるほどに高密度に打込まれたバフクロスなど。
綿の毛羽立ちがやさしく、肌馴染みのいい生地。
長く愛着を持って使っていただけるような、そんなオンリーワンのモノづくりを継承していきます。

Since 1928, FURUHASHI has been an independent, family-owned textile manufacturer
based in “Enshu” area, Hamamatsu-city, Shizuoka, JAPAN.
We are committed to preserving rarity values, called “shuttle looms”
and traditional production methods that passed down for more than half a century.
We have developed and manufactured unique textiles using natural materials
such as cottons.

Besides, high density fabrics are our strength.
Typewriter cloth, parachute cloth and dawn-proof cloth made with fine quality cottons.
Tightly woven Buff cloth, to such a degree that a fabric is bounced off
and making a sound on the loom.
Soft fluffy surfaces of cotton and good textures will fit into your skins.
Rather than quantity and volume, our focus is on putting outstanding craftsmanship to work,
so that people feel attached to it and cherish our products for many years.
