Santa Cruz Metro recently acquired some XN60 buses in their fleet in order to help address crowding for UCSC students, and to replace the ex-VTA D60LFs as they are aging and second-hand purchases. These artic buses are ex-MTS, coming from San Diego MTS when they decided to buy new XN60s to replace these older ones. The original fleet number was 1127, but Santa Cruz Metro decided to replace it with an extra 0 in the numbers.

These XN60s were originally wrapped in MTS livery when they first arrived on site, later on each of the unit received a specific wrap that used a nature theme, and advertising Santa Cruz Metro's new Reimagine service changes. They use Cummins Westport ISL G engines, with ZF EcoLife transmission, which is not very common in the Bay Area. The addition of these buses indirectly means that the older buses in the fleet may be swapped out soon...
