When canning beverages, we recommend inspecting the double seam at the beginning, middle, and end of of every canning run. This can be done manually with a micrometer and a logbook, but we recommend investing in seam inspection equipment to achieve consistent and accurate data collection.

At initial installation, we provide basic training to get customers started with seam inspection. A can seamer requires an incredible amount of centrifugal force to adhere the can end to the can body. With high volume canning, it is guaranteed that the seamer will go out of spec. Continuous monitoring will ensure the equipment is optimized to avoid seam integrity issues that could compromise your beverage.

A strong double seam means the can is sealed completely to prevent oxygen from degrading your beverage and allow the packaging to withstand temperature fluctuations and agitation during transport.
