In this tutorial, we're using science and simple materials to create faux crystals or minerals. You possibly already have everything you need at home - and if not, the materials can be borrowed or bought for cheap.

For these crystals you will need no borax, no salt and no fancy materials. You could even call it a little science experiment, so it's great for when you're bored at home or want to try something new.
I had a lot of fun myself and found the rainbows that were created quite mesmerizing.
