i'm so grateful for Kent Island. When you only have a day or an afternoon, but you still crave the sun, the water, and great seafood, Kent is only an hour or less from both Washington, DC and Baltimore (only +30 minutes with no traffic congestion). They also host THREE public beaches - which is darn decent of them, since there are only about three more on the West Bay, and virtually none on the East Bay. Maryland sucks that way. They sure love their private property and marinas. i understand not every small town on the Chesapeake wants to be a tourist town, but the state is very stingy when it comes to enjoying our waters without a boat.
