Here is a video showing the exact details regarding installation of a #Vantrue #N4PRO dash cam, using a #DongarTechnologies 10-Pin Type D adapter using the power from the rear view mirror. No ugly wired running to the dash on this one. I also explain why I chose this Dongar adapter over the Vantrue fuse-tap hard wiring option - mainly due to having a #Fisher #XV2 installed on the truck.

For this to work, you MUST HAVE a power-dimming rear view mirror. Installation of the Dongar adapter would likely be very similar in other vehicles, but the removal and reassembly of the plastic trim/fascia, is likely unique to Dodge/RAM/Mopar vehicles. My particular truck is a 2023 #RAM #2500 #Laramie.

The actual install took less time than the video. Trying to get the proper angles, so that I could show you exactly what I was doing, proved to be quite difficult.

This link is for the Vantrue fuse-tap kit. A MUST HAVE if you are trying to use parking mode/night mode and you need your camera able to record incidents while your car is parked. My RAM sits for days and days at a time, without being driven, so this would just drain down my battery.
