The Brother D-68 was made in Japan in the late 1950s early 1960s,
imported into the UK and fitted with a British made Sew-Tric electric
motor and light.
The Brother’s design is almost identical to that of the popular Singer
15K and it was made well before plastic and lightweight pressed metal were introduced to replace the expensive cast and forged metal parts that make up the fabric of this machine.
The machine can do adjustable straight stitch and reverse and the feed
dogs can also be lowered to facilitate embroidery and darning
