Going to the top of the Stelvio is almost a must for all motorcyclists, even I couldn't avoid this adventure.
The Stelvio Pass is an Alpine pass of the Rhaetian Alps, as well as the highest automobile pass in Italy, in front of the Agnello pass and the second in Europe behind the Iseran pass, we are at an altitude of 2758 and is located between Trentino -Alto Adige and Lombardy.
The state road of the same name that crosses it connects Bormio which is located at an altitude of 1225, with Prato allo Stelvio, is asphalted, two-lane and open to vehicles, and has eighty-eight hairpin bends, of which 48 on the South Tyrolean side and 40 on the Lombard side. On the Lombard side, at an altitude of around 2,500 m, the road connects with the nearby Giogo di Santa Maria, a pass that leads into Swiss territory. On all three sides, the two Italian ones and the Swiss one, the pass remains closed seasonally between November and May.
The visit to Lake Resia was also fascinating, where the famous church with the bell tower coming out of the lake has made the place famous and is always full of tourists.
To enjoy the holiday, we preferred to do it all in three days, with an approach stage, one where we toured the town and the third for the return home.
