This is the first of many of my improved through the years videos of ''it's a small world'' at Disneyland. Since the original videos that I made new footage has emerged including a rare video from 1982 and an HD video from 2007 as well other videos too. This video is a compilation of photos and videos of each and every version of the "it's a small world" hello room from the ride's opening at Disneyland in 1966 to the present. The video begins with the first version (1966-c.1969) with shields and banners but due to limited pictures and video I had to slow down these parts. Next is the (c.1969-1976) version of the room with the flowers. With much more content of this version I was able to find more video, however these videos don't have live sound except for a rare sound film from 1970. Then there is the (1976-c.1981) version that is similar also with the flowers. Next is my favorite version which is the (c.1981-1998) first half with rainbows and animals which has much more documentation and lasted longer than any of the pervious versions. In 1991 the second half of the room was completely redesigned after 25 years from the old banners and shields to a new cruise around the world theme that remains today. There might have been changes in the second half before 1991 but there is not documentation before 1982 to prove that other than a single image. The first half got redesigned in 1999 to the boats and animals as we know it today. The soundtrack has overgone many changes over the years too. In 1966 the Welcome Room played the Finale Chorus audio. Sometime in the 1970's (most likely 1976) the audio switched to a a new chorus with a light British accent (most likely because the original 1964 recording were damaged). In 1993 Disney wanted to bring back the original 1964 recording however they were believed to be lost so instead Disney added the John Debney Paris soundtrack into the ride. In 2003 Disney found the original recordings so they restored them back to the ride, the welcome room however had they removed the Finale Chorus. I hope you enjoy this video.
