Bohuslav Martinů's Bergerettes are an exceptional work that was written at the beginning of 1939, in a time of uncertainty. Yet there is no fear of it, but rather determination, strength, energy. Most likely, Bohuslav Martinů had never heard his work performed. The musical notation was found in his estate and was first played to the public by Foerster's trio in 1963. That is, 24 years after it was written and 4 years after the composer's death. This recording is celebrating 80 years after his arrival to the New York city.
I. Poco allegro - 0:48
II. Allegro con brio - 5:01
III. Andantino - 9:20
IV. Allegro - 14:13
V. Moderato - 16:36
Recorded in the Bohuslav Martinů hall in Prague 2021.
