On Saturday, September 21, 2024, we came together with Bruce Allan, a member of the Stellat'en First Nation, to honour Canada's National Day for Truth & Reconciliation. Bruce shared some of his wisdom and knowledge as a survivor of the Lejac Indian Residential School near Fraser Lake, of which he is an intergenerational survivor, as his grandmother and father attended the same school.

Bruce is an educator who has worked with survivors of residential schools since the year 2000. He teaches social workers, nurses and teachers at the College of New Caledonia in Prince George, and has participated in many Truth & Reconciliation hearings throughout British Columbia and Canada. A Resolution Health Worker and Elder with the Indian Residential School Survivors Society, Bruce has recently begun to work more closely with intergenerational survivors.
