Marcus was a human who later became a vampire. He was born around the year 500 (ad) being one of the most powerful members of the Corvinus clan and the progenitor of the entire vampire species. The origin of his transformation into a vampire stemmed from a bite from a rabid bat, leading him to be the first vampire. On the other hand, his brother William turned into a werewolf, infecting a large proportion of the population. To fight off the emerging horde of werewolves, Marcus approached Viktor, a dying warlord, to borrow his military genius and army from him in exchange for immortality. Viktor accepted his offer and became one of the vampires. Right away they started the war against the werewolves, as they were definitely a threat to both the human and vampire populations. 800 years after those events, Viktor led a group of death dealers to a Hungarian town that William had previously passed through. Instead of finding just William, they found an entire village of recently infected werewolves. Viktor's army subdued and seriously wounded William in the aftermath of the battle.
