The Tokyo 2021 Olympic Games are in full swing, following last week’s Opening Ceremony that kicked off the two-week event in Tokyo’s newly rebuilt Olympic Stadium.

The first three days of competition were an exciting start to the Games. Despite winning no medals on Day 1, Team USA made a comeback on Sunday with 10 medals, four of which were golds. Sunday’s success can be credited in part to U.S swimmers, who earned a gold in the men’s 4×100 freestyle relay and a silver from Katie Ledecky in the women’s 400 free. The most historic win of the weekend, however, might be Russia’s gold medal in men’s gymnastics, the country’s first Olympic title since 1996. Now, eyes are on Team USA’s Simon Biles who struggled through her routine during Sunday night’s qualifiers. The record-breaking gymnast still finished first for the overall competition, though, and will have a chance to start anew during the finals on Tuesday, where she’ll compete in all six events.
