Nightwish (live) Niagara Falls, NY on March 23, 2018

I saw Nightwish on their Decades Tour at “The Rapids Theatre” in Niagara Falls, NY in 2018. They are considered a symphonic metal band from Finland. On this tour, Nightwish included a special setlist, featuring rare songs from the earlier era to revisit with some new twists. The setlist was a 'one-off' and only performed on this tour. It was the final tour to feature longtime bassist/vocalist Marko Hietala who later left the band in January 2021. Floor Jansen was their lead vocals for this show, and she did amazing. (I liked Tarja too however). The floor of the venue is standing and then balcony has seating. I saw Nightwish in Buffalo in 2015 as well. At that show, Delain and Sabaton opened for Nightwish.

This venue is not in the best area, but the inside of the venue is pretty cool. It’s an old renovated theater. Originally constructed under the name of The Bellevue Theatre in 1921, it opened as a movie theatre and vaudeville stage, complete with a grand balcony and domed ceiling. After a long history of various ownerships and management changes, it most recently reopened as the Rapids Theatre in December 2009 on Main Street, Niagara Falls. It holds about 1700 people.
