You’re invited! Well, you actually weren’t. But we thought you might like to know about the super strict rules guests of the Royal Coronation had to follow. From limiting their conversations to ditching fur trim to leaving phones at home, here’s what the coronation guests had to do to keep their seat for the coronation ceremony.

A LOT has changed since Queen Elizabeth was crowned in 1953. Her son ensured that the dress code for his coronation would be… well, we’re not going to say “laid back”, but definitely LESS formal than traditional coronation ceremonies. If you can call these hats anything other than formal a la max.

Even with all of these rules and guidelines, would you still have attended the coronation if you were invited? Um… I’d sure be there, ridiculously fancy hat and all.
