Allen Ginsberg went to Bangladesh during Bangladesh Independence war in 1971. He witnessed the gruesomeness of the war at Jessore-Benapole road, and the human sufferings and terrible hardship inside the refugee camps in India; and as reflection, he wrote the poem ‘September on Jessore Road’.
This poem has become a symbol of American people's love for the people of Bangladesh and for the humanity. Ms. Dahlia's recitation was very charming.\
