Wildlife filmmaker Lawrence Wahba brings the viewer inside the ecological disaster caused by the worse forest fires in the history of the Pantanal, world’s natural heritage site. While Brazil faces the pandemic damages and government neglects to the environment, Wahba bring us to hell, showing the efforts of firefighters, veterinarians, researchers, villagers and volunteers to save animal lives and protect the biome. Through jaguars, sacred animals to most Central and South America’s original people traditions, the film adopts an holistic vision to denounce the tragedy, investigate its causes and learn if it could be avoided.

This film is included in the Wildscreen Official Selection 2022 and received the Sustainability Merit. Watch it screened in the Bristol Aquarium Big Cinema on Friday 14th October 2022. Tickets available on Eventbrite.
